Heartland yesterday forced champions Enyimba to a 1-1 draw in Umuahia in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Enyimba, who are still in contention for this year’s CAF Champions League, now have 13 points from nine matches, while Heartland are on 18 points from 13 matches.
Enyimba took the lead after 27 minutes of this rescheduled league match through striker Peter Onyekachi after the Heartland goalkeeper gifted him a chance.
However, Heartland drew level through former Enyimba star Ifeanyi Onuigbo in the 31st minute, when he headed home a free kick beyond goalkeeper Femi Thomas.
Also yesterday Enugu Rangers walked over Giwa FC who failed to honour the continuation of the matchday 12 abandoned.
At the Akure Township Stadium, Sunshine Stars hammered Nasarawa United 3-0 in a rescheduled match day seven fixture.
