The chairman of the Lagos State council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede has expressed the commitment of his administration to sanitising the union in the state.
The NURTW chief also said that the current administration of the union in the state had done a lot to reposition the union for greater performance and to be law abiding.
Agbede frowned on the recent media report that one of the leaders of the union was arrested for being a major receiver of stolen phones in the state.
The NURTW boss insisted that the days of misconduct by any member of the union are over, noting that the union had been very responsible and peaceful, since his assumption of office .
He added that “the union is very much organised now in the state and any real member of our union cannot be involved in any crime or misconduct. The union is doing everything possible to ensure that all our members are properly monitored and coordinated to prevent them from indulging in any criminal act.”
