Zlatan Ibrahimovic drops another major hint over Man United move

Zlatan heading to Manchester United

It seems to be a widespread fact these days that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will sign for Manchester United after Euro 2016.

The super Swedish striker is out of contract having lead PSG to a whole heap of silverware and despite offers from China and the MLS, Zlatan seems set to work with Jose Mourinho again and in close proximity to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Manchester United’s move for Zlatan has been held up somewhat by the ongoing European Championships and by a bonus clause in his contract at PSG, that only ends come July 1, 2016.

Zlatan leaves Nike

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been linked with Nike ever since he truly emerged into the European football scene, at Ajax.

The super Swedish striker has almost always worn Nike Mercurial Vapors – including in Sweden’s match against Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016 earlier this week.

But, it appears that Zlatan’s long-term Nike deal has come to an end, with the Swedish striker wearing Adidas boots in Sweden training on Wednesday.

#DareToZlatan is no longer

Manchester United have a major kit deal with Adidas, considered to be the biggest of any football club on the planet.

It would be a huge boost for all three parties – Zlatan, Adidas and Manchester United – where he to have left Nike for their main sportswear rival.

Zlatan was one of Nike’s main assets – see the #DareToZlatan hashtag – so this could be a major move for Adidas, as well as Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

Whilst Zlatan is almost certainly heading to Manchester United, it is worth mentioning that plenty of players appear for major clubs and wear different boot brands to their club’s kit sponsor.

For example, Sergio Aguero wears Puma and plays for Manchester City (Nike). Luis Suarez is sponsored by Adidas and plays for Barcelona (Nike).

It is also an unlikely possibility that Zlatan could wear boots made by his own new clothing brand A-Z.
